Today, many of us celebrate a real event. God came down in human form, lived among us, and taught us about sin, hell and eternal life. He taught us how to treat each other and to even love our enemies. He told us to turn the other cheek when we are abused. He told us to forgive others of their sin, as he pointed out our own. He taught us to follow him and to do so with passion, not with lukewarm apathy. He told us to love our wives as Christ loved the Church. He told wives to love their husbands and kids to honor their parents. He told us also, that if the world hated him, they would hate us too. (those of us who follow him). He gave us a moral guide to live out our lives, but warning us, that good acts will not save us without accepting the gift that he would offer. Today we celebrate that gift. The gift of eternal life. A gift that saves us from the eternal death that is the lake of fire. A gift that promises we will miss God’s Great White Throne Judgement.
Today, we celebrate the first Christmas of the year. The day of the ultimate gift. The day Jesus defeated death. On our calendar, we celebrate God’s final act of mercy, before we celebrate the coming of his human birth. It’s okay though, for they are both miracles! Jesus died on the cross, so that we might receive our gift. He rose on the third day to show us death is defeated and that death has no real lasting power over us.
If you want to get your Christmas gift long before December, pick up a Bible, preferably a King James original, and get instructions on how to receive your gift via Romans chapter 10, verses 9 and 10. You must know how to receive your gift to get it. Don’t worry, all are eligible for the same gift, God is not cheap, and there is enough for every man, woman, and child on the planet. Once you receive the gift, it will last forever and forever. It will not rust, it will not rot, it will not get dusty, and will not tarnish or spoil.
I have already asked for and received my gift. Leave me some comments if you decide to go get yours, I would like to know if you enjoyed Christmas on Easter.
Mark Damon,
Merry Christmas, Happy Easter!
