GEORGE (SULU) TAKEI, DONALD TRUMP AND CHIEF JUSTICE EARL WARREN VIA ARTICLE USA TODAY 12/21/15 (OPEN LETTER)

Mr. Takei,

I enjoyed watching your character on Star Trek for many years and still do so today on video now and then, but now it’s time to come back down to Earth and comment on a few things you said in your article.

I totally agree with you that what happened to the Japanese in the 1940s was an absolute horrible act perpetrated against American citizens, and if Donald Trump was to impose the same things on Muslim Americans within his Presidency, he would be no better than a Tyrant.

However, We are being pursued by a radical faction of people that want to brutalize and kill us. Most of them are on foreign soil just looking for a way in the door. I think it is at least prudent to guard the gates against foreign Nationals for awhile don’t you? Let me pose another question? Do you think America should have denied access to Japanese Foreign Nationals during our former World War?

Finally, I must disagree with you on your statement that Donald Trump is a right wing conservative. I’m not so sure that such a descriptive fits Trump, in fact, I’m resisting writing much about Trump and his Presidential run, pending a much longer observation period of him.

I also take issue with you referring to Chief Justice Earl Warren as enlightened, when you reference his progressive leanings. I do not view progressives as enlightened, but mostly as throwbacks to an earlier time. There is nothing progressive about concentrating on the color of one’s skin day in and day out to fuel a political agenda. Nor, is it an enlightened mind that concentrates on a person’s sexual orientation day in and day out. If I believed in Evolution and I don’t, progressives would be the proof that the theory is true, due to their constant concentrations on the human beast within us, and not the far greater concept of heart, soul, spirit and what unites us as human beings. Did you not learn anything from Star Trek George?

Another thing, before progressives work on the rights of entry to the United States of any foreign National, perhaps they might stand up first for the Constitutional rights of Americans right here, instead of trying to erode the First and Second Amendments with absolute nonsense like hate speech prohibitions, and by trying to ban whole groups of commonly used firearms under what they call GUN SAFETY LAWS! To me, progressives are the worse examples on earth in regards to human rights violators!

It has been nice writing you George, say hello to William Shatner for me.
