FREE SPEECH, HATE SPEECH OR JUST DISRESPECT FOR POLICE AT THE COURIER JOURNAL?

As we begin the first day of 2016, let us all take a stand against Racism, Sexism, and all other forms of discrimination. The Courier Journal in Louisville Kentucky has demonstrated that it will end the year with a cartoon, that paints all Police officers in terms of generality, as racists murderers. The cartoon shows a little black American asking if he can have a BB gun and his mother says no. The boy then counters with the famous Christmas question of “why, cause I’ll shoot my eye out?” His mother responds by telling him he will be shot by a Police Officer and the officer will walk.

Such a heart warming and UNTRUE message perpetrated by the Courier Journal to end the Holiday year. It appears we will all experience another year of skin color politics, sexual orientation diatribes, transgender politics and lying liberals with endless double standards. If anyone out there on any side of the political spectrum were honest, they would recognize the searing hypocrisy of the Courier Journal’s cartoon. Can you imagine the out roar, the protests, the fires, the shots in the night, the rocks thrown at the Police, and the apologies from the Courier Journal, if the journal had painted an all inclusive picture of Black Americans, Gay Americans or any other group recognized, as the only civil rights holders by liberals?

I love all groups of people, regardless of your ethnic origin, skin color, sexual desires or religion. I hope you all have a great year coming up! I hope that all Police Officers enjoy a safe, happy 2016 and go home each and every night to your family, despite the possibly harmful rhetoric injected into the New Year by the CJ.

I also would like ALL Police officers to know, that your best work comes from your oath to uphold the Constitution, loyalty to the people of which your badge represents, and with the knowledge that HEROES are formed by deeds, not the group one belongs to, the job one does or the status one is given.

God bless this Nation,

Mark Damon
